Grooved pipe fittings installation needs attention

The quality of clamp installation, especially flexible clamp installation, depends not only on the above requirements: pipe material, external dimensions, pipe mouth deformation, groove quality and clamp quality, size deviation, but also on each clamp.

The installation of the rigid clamp must ensure that the convex edge of the grooved pipe fitting is inserted into the groove and then the bolts are tightened symmetrically on both sides. This "convex edge insertion" means that the protrusion of about 2mm on the convex edge of the grooved pipe fitting, which is the same height as the pipe groove depth, should be flush with the concave embedment after the pipe mouth is grooved. The convex edge of the finished clamp is sometimes too thick, too deformed, or even too twisted. If it can be repaired on site, it can be repaired. If it cannot be repaired, it can only be abandoned and replaced with another one. This requires the on-site operator to observe and inspect one by one, and basically install it when it meets the requirements to avoid rework.
